i have a mate who is buying a pair of het dariwns. I reckon he is paying too much for them, Does anyone know what a fair price for a pair of these would be?

Most people seem to think that the price for hets should be more than half the price for albinos. Personally I disagree because although you theoretically get 50% albino babies if you breed the het to an albino, you don't get the albino to look at in the first place and you are taking the breeders word that they are hets.

I dont know if URS is actually selling them.
The price is around 7k a pair.
Consider this,
Albinos and Het Darwins are in alot smaller numbers than GTP for example, and only a hand full had male albinos old enough this season to produce hets, adding to this most if not all of these breeder will be holding onto some of the clutch.
I think 7k for a pair when compared to 10-15k for a pair of greens makes a het pair a worth while investment.

I think somewhere in the region of $7000-8000 for guaranteed hets is good value.

I would have thought about $6000 a pair would be a fair price. Funds permitting at that price I would have some.

To be honest I think upwards of $7000 for a pair. You would be doing well to get a pair for $6000 but who knows ? Quote:

I really dont think 7k it too much, looking at how much was charged for several of the Albino snake species bred in the USA, considering its such early days with Albinos in Australia the price is rather low JMO.
Some Het Pairs are Advertised on Herptrader currently for $7700a pair, im sure by the time they are old enough to breed the value of Albino will still be up, and you wont lose out.
