lol no what that person claimed to be doing was grossly over feeding and shortening the life of their snake.

loki sounds like a very healthy snake chris1, that other person if telling the truth should not be feeding his MD such a large rat... my 5.5 ft water python doesn't even eat rats nearly a kilo in weight. It's appalling

my waters are having a 400g rat that leaves a visible lump in their gut and is gone in 3days,they are most certainly not losing weight

Your not underfeeding him, but you could be feeding him double that without any problems.

Question - what would be a 70g rat (i don't particularly want to weigh the rats that I buy on my kitchen scales). I've just increased my 4 foot - 15 month bredli to two fuzzy rats a week - is that too much??? He seems quite content.....

Okay - well two of those a week shoudn't be hurting him (I've only just start feeding him two on Sunday) and he seems to be happy enough - he's the sort of snake that needs routine - only happy to be held at certain times of the day and gets snappy if he isn't being fed on the same day - so at the moment I might just keep him at two per week!!!!!
