Feeding

Lol im in a sticky situation here, my 6 month old coastal ate around 5 feeds in the 6 months of her lifetime but has just recently started eating whenever i give it to her. I'm after a fair size from her but don't want to overfeed, but at the same time want to make up for a little lost time... what would be sensible?

I am the same mate, if I offer and he takes it, then all is good. If he hasn't eaten by the morning, then I remove it and wait a couple of days before trying again.

You have to take into consideration that your coastal is still a bub. So feeding it often is not going to impact on the snake in a negative way too much!

I do the same as FNQ. If it takes it fine. If not remove by the morning. It will stink up and go off and then it's no good.

Snakes under a year old can be fed a large meal once a week with no problems. Snakes that have not fed often in the first year tend to be small. It's quite okay to feed them often, and as long as they have stimulation, such as vines and branches that they can exercise on, then they shouldn't get overweight.
