I'm sure your snake will be fine without a meal, just feed it after it sheds. Besides, if a snake is about to shed in the wild, it finds a place to hide it's self away, because that's when it's at it's most vulnerable, and I don't think it would eat during this period.

My female stimsoni refused food last week, then shed 2 days later.
Very unusual for Savage to refuse food ! :-) She'd been lying
quietly with her mate in the back corner. He shed the same night,
but he never eats from Feb to July as he's too ummmmm...busy
chasing females.

Has anyone come across their Python looking as though they're ready to shed (milky eyes, light skin), but then having their Python revert to 'normal' without actually shedding?

Yes, and then two or three days later you wake up and theirs the ghost of a snake in there with them. Or perhaps it's a shed skin Or are you saying that they don't shed at all...like for weeks after?

Do any of you notice that it takes much longer for the bredli's to shed than other species?
I've got an olive, a bredli and a pine, and for some reason, the bredli seems to take FOREVER to shed. We're talking 2+ weeks from when he goes opaque. My olive and pine are about 7-10 days total.
He'll be a year old this August, and is about 40" or so, healthy, otherwise active and an eating machine.
Since going opaque, he's been in hiding 24x7 for the past 2+ weeks now. I've checked in on him, and he looks fine, all cleared up.
Thanks,
//Todd

My bredli just shed for the first time since I have had her, she went milky, then about 2 days later she shed.
Manny, I'm sure your snake will shed when it's good and ready, I wouldn't worry!! My childrens will sometimes go milky, then will be clear for about a week before she sheds.
