|  | Regular Member | | | | Hey Guys! i got my first olive python nearly a year ago (my first snake, still haven't been bitten ), and i have just started thinking that one day she is going to be 4metres long, and i have no idea how i am going to feed her. Have you got any ideas? And how do some of you (with big pythons) feed your snakes? Thanks!

|  | Regular Member | | | | | I used to feed my big adults with rabbits and i would simply just throw the rabbit in the other end of the cage where the animal was, as the olives i had, had a massive feeding response and would coil and continually bite things around them.

|  | Subscriber | Join Date: Oct-06 Location: Alice Springs Gender:  | | | Jumbo rats as rabbits are a bit hard to come by in Alice. I've fed my big carpet a rabbit once - it was quite a sight. Took quite a while for her to eat it but once she started, there was no turning back. If you're lucky, your snake won't have a killer feeding instinct and you might be able to feed her with rubber tipped tongs or something similar. It's quite a sight when a hungry olive decides to eat the hand that is feeding him/her.
