Q1- is it fine to have my click clack container ( her home ) in the same room as a tv that is on only for a couple of hours during the night, there is no light shinning in. its just the noise im a bit concerned about. Q2- Do i need a thermostat for my heat pad under her home or would a thermometer be fine. is so what are the ideal temps cold and hot?!? Q3- how long will she be able to stay in the click clack container ( 10L starmaid brand container) she is approx 35cm and around 1.5 months old. Q4- when she sheds for the first time while under my care, will it be a full slough or in peices. Q5- is a water bowl needed permanently, if so on the warm side or the cool side. If there is anything ill let everyone know. thank you all for looking, reading and replying!!! |

Click-clack in the lounge is fine. Just make sure the TV is not blaring is all. It might get a bit agitated if it is. Q2- Do i need a thermostat for my heat pad under her home or would a thermometer be fine. is so what are the ideal temps cold and hot?!? It is recommended, but not really needed if you want to keep checking the temperature. They are pretty cheap and easy to intall. Bredli's normally like to have a temperature range of between 24-32 degrees. Make sure your heat mat is under a third to a half of the click-clack so the snake can move between both sides to regulate its own temperature. Q3- how long will she be able to stay in the click clack container ( 10L starmaid brand container) she is approx 35cm and around 1.5 months old.
About 12 months, then move it into an enclosure it can move around a bit. About 1.2mx.6xm.6m. Q4- when she sheds for the first time while under my care, will it be a full slough or in peices.
It depends, sometimes whole, sometimes in pieces. It all depends of how it sheds. What the humidity is etc. Normally there are a couple of pieces. Q5- is a water bowl needed permanently, if so on the warm side or the cool side. Water is a must. Cool side is preferable.

Q1 should be ok
Q2 debateable, if it is going to be for a long period then i would say yes otherwise fine for now. Ensure the pad is only on say 25 to 30% of the base of the click clack. say it has warm and cold areas
Q3 not sure how long in time, but she is fine providing her length is no more than double that of the length of the container, and half again in width and height. eg bredli 1m long then minimum click clack of 50x25x25cm but i prefer a little more room. not so sqeezie
Q4 depends, might be one or the other
Q5 water bowl to be permenant on cool side
good luck |

Q1. From what I've heard and am doing with my Stimson's its best to let them settle in for a few weeks in a quiet place.
Q2. Heat mats can and will get hot, and from some of the threads on here about them causing fires or burning I use a thermostat for peace of mind. Depending on what heat mat you have make sure there is a bit of ventilation otherwise it'll just get hotter and hotter. I have an ExoTerra adhesive one and have it stuck underneath a piece of glass, small spacers are stuck underneath as well to aid in ventilation and my click clack sits on top, so the heat mat is heating through the glass and the bottom of the enclosure and the glass is elevated with the feet. As for temps 30 - 33 hot side is ideal I'm pretty sure
Q3. Depends how fast she grows, I'm unsure how fast Bredli grow but you can keep upsizing the click clack, when she is twice as long as the longest side get a slightly bigger one.
Q4. The shed depends on the humidity. When you notice her eyes go milky and then normal again, lightly mist the enclosure. I don't know how well Bredli handle humidity though, you could also take her out and mist her. If the humidity is right she'll shed fully, double check the spectacles (eye caps) and tip of the tail. If she has trouble you can soak her and let her slither in a warm damp cloth. Put some rough wood in her enclosure so she can run against it.
Q5. Water is needed all the time! Put it on the cool side otherwise it'll warm up and make the enclosure too humid! if its too humid it can cause respiratory infection. give fresh water every two days. you CAN move the water bowl to the warm side only for one day when you notice her milky eyes have gone, as this will increase humidity, this is the same as misting. just make sure you don't leave it on the hot side!
