i have a male spotted that hasn't eaten by itself since the start of September, we have been force feeding it, well the other week after trying everything me and a mate could think of and so last week i got a little skink and put it in and after an hour and a half it ate it and then tonight i defrosted a pinkie mouse and just put it in in front of the hide to see if he might take it and i went back an hour late and wella it's gone he ate it no problem. i think the skink gave him the instinct back to grab and eat it, I'm not sure but it worked.

I wouldn't go telling too many people about that... sort of illegal and whatnot...
However, good to see your python is eating on its own.
