my questions:
1) what temps should the hot end be, im rinning a heat mat under the click clack run by a ministat 100. and what about the cool end? how do i regulate that or do i just let it get to whatever it wants then if the snake is cool itll regulate itself.
2) are these temps alright for night? do you change the temps at night? (if so then what?)
3) also if people have any click clack setups they haven't posted here for stimmies feel free to show them off here, i'm interested to see what people have done. (i've seen the pics people have posted in other threads but if they want to post them again here it would be great!)
EDIT: also any advice you could give, no matter how basic i would appreciate. i know a fair bit about them and how to care for them but you never know, i might have missed something!
Here's a pic of him/her. its a tennant creek locale. does anyone have information on this locale like typical colours, temperment or size on avergage? (yes i know all snakes are individuals but theres usually opinions on locales as a general statement)

Make the hot end 32 degrees max, and the cool end 5-6 degrees lower than that. I have a seven month-old mac, and I keep her temperatures constant. She cruises around the tank and regulates her own body temperature.
Can't help you with the click-clack set-up, I've only ever used a tank.
Happy herp keeping! |

Temperatures should be:
Hot End: 30º - 32º
Cool End: 24º - 26º
I used a click clack for my stimson for around 2 weeks. I have my MD in one at the moment and I have:
2 x Hides (One in the hot end and one in the cool end)
1 x Water Dish (Large enough for him to fit in to soak if he needs)
1 x toilet roll (extra hide)
1 x Paper Towel roll (with a square cut in the top and then placed along the middle of the click clack so it's about the ground of the click clack and he can hide in it)
1 x Branch (for the snake to climb on)
Have you thought about what kind of substrate you want to use? In my stimsons enclosure I have newspaper on the bottom and then Breeders Choice on top. In the MD's Click clack I just have newspaper as it's easy to clean, plus given the chance they'll hide in it.
When you get your new snake, try not to handle him for 1 - 2 weeks, he'll need to calm down. You can attempt to feed him after 1 week, but 2 is probably best.

how hot does a surface have to be to burn a snake? like 50 or more or 40? to get the top of the substrate a good 32 the bottom of the click clack gets around 40 i think. |

so 30-32 is ideal for hot end, 5ish degrees lower in the cool end. is this correct?
and what temps can start to burn a reptile? |

Hope this helps. Also my hot end is 32-33 and cool end about 28-26 (day) night hot end is 28-26 cool end 24 and uner i guess. Don't take much notice anymore.
