Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has lost a Spotted Python around the Kedron - Chermside area,
North Brisbane.
It is really tame and has one very distinctive feature ( which you must tell me before I hand it over).
It had entered someones backyard and i was called out to relocate it. The location was in an extreamly busy area of north brisbane. Also the snake, is not known to exist in that area.
Ive contacted a few other snake catchers in the area. And weve all come to the same conclusion that its most probably someones pet thats escaped.
Ill hold it untill tuesday 6th feb, then ill hand it over to the NPWS.
If its yours please email me at dth85894@bigpond.net.au
Cheers
dee

How do you know its not a wild snake? Post up some pics. Spotted pythons are native to brisbane so it is possible that it isnt a pet.
If it is a pet it is most likely from very near by.
I have heard of a few cases where they have been caught in the western suburbs, although they may have been pets.

Yeah don't they have a limited roaming area? If you had the time you could do a door knock... (ah time... what a glorius word!) haha "Good morning mame, have you recently lost a snake?" You might get some interesting reactions at the least!

Hi all
Just a follow up on the spotted python.I had contacted the NPWS rangers, They had told me to have a herp vet inspect the animal to determine weather its a wild or captive animal The vet had agreed that it is a captive raised animal, and gave me a certificate to hand to NPWS. The NPWS are currently doing a search for the owner within the area were it was caught.
Macs are native to brisbane, but usually as True blue said in pockets. The area which this one was caught in was extreamly busy, surrounded by units/town houses etc and atleast 15 km from an area of bushland or release point.
The snake was soooo tame and also in great condition. Which i thought was very unusual if it were a wild snake.
