Funny feeding story..

I was feeding my 10month old BHPs yesterday and usually just pick em up when they are finished and put them back into their enclosures. But my boy decided he was still hungry and that I might make a nice meal for him so he struck out and grabbed me by the finger right down to my first knuckle. All well and good, so I sit still waiting for him to realise that I would be too big and thus let go. Nope, he then proceeded to work his way down my finger. So I walked out to the back yard in search of a bucket hoping a little water would do the trick when I run into my 6 year old son who flies into a panic, "Don't worry Mum, I won't let you die!!!" (bless him) he wails at the top of his lungs alerting the nextdoor neighbours as to what was happening (who at the best of times doesn't like my snakes let alone when they are trying to eat me! Probably won't believe me next time I tell him they won't bite! ) Anyway, my son finds the bucket and I fill it with some coolish water and gently submerge him thinking yep, this'll do the trick. NUP still no luck as I loosen my grip he still tries to fit a bit more in, so eventually I resort to ever so gently with one hand trying to pry his mouth from my finger and slowly work his way back off it. As I do this, the blood starts flowing, amazing my 6yo to the point he bellows, "oh cool Mum, you've got so much blood!!!" My neighbour now retreats with a horrified look on his face, I guess he doesn't like blood either!!" Anyway, all ended up well, no teeth missing and he happily went back to bask off his belly full of rat! My neighbour on the other hand.......

Last time I had that problem I used a packet of peas, didn't like getting that cold so he released, then put him on his heat mat to warm up a bit.
