fuscus macro

howdy all, thought i would take some macro pics of my water python using the new camera, my first attempt at macro. enjoy.

thanks guys, i thought they were ok, but the flash seems to be too strong. it has bleached the colours a bit.

Hey bredli84, its not your flash. You will find that the pics are just over exposed, look in your camera instructions and find how to play with the exposure settings. Otherwise nice shots.

You're shooting in tricky lighting. A midtone to light subject against a dark background will fool the camera into ramping up the flash. Get the light level up on the background and maybe put a layer or two of tissue over the flash, it'll smooth the overall exposure and soften the flash

that makes sense, thanks mate. im trying to get into this whole photography thing, there are some people out there who take great shots and i would love to be half as good.
im developing a greater appreciation for the skill experience and expertise involved.
