I agree the babies look very un-Diamond like and I can't wait to see how they progress.

Apart from that we seem to be in total agreement.
Boa, the funny thing is until a few years back that is what I thought all diamond hatchies looked like. |

| | | | my diamond is high yellow came from grafton............thats where the breeder lived lol.its a bit "far fetched" that certain people (no-one in particular) automaticlly deam high yellow diamonds are a gosford genisis.i do believe there is good cause for the argument, but is not the only reason, are we forgetting evloution ? and natural selection |

I am a newbie to this, but do diamond python patterns change as dramatically as the colour? |

As someone allready pointed out, hatchling Diamond markings do not vary much as they grow, its just the colour that intensifies. These hatchlings have complete crossbands interconected with lateral striping. The parents as yellow as they are only have standard size rosettes. You will have to keep us posted with pics as it developes.
As for the Gosford linage mypth, its just that., a mypth. You can find Diamonds just as yellow in any of their range. High yellow Diamonds are not unique to the Central Coast. The only thing that can be said about Gosford Diamonds is that we probably have more high yellows here on average than most other areas. And we also have some of the ugliest black slug monsters here as well.
I have attached a pic of my Gosford linage Diamond. This is a male that I breed 3 clutches with this season. Not quite as good as Dans, but not far off them. |

He actually shed last night and already it is possible to see the tipping on the scales on the side of the body and the stripes on the neck got very much brighter. It will be very interesting to see how it develops as knowing comes from pure animals maybe it will throw a spanner in the works as far as what it considered a diamond or intergrade ?
