Hi happy herpers,
My 4 year old female is looking prega's and i have not bred these guys before so after some advise.I know it is a bit late but she looks to be belly up.Both male and female shed around the same time a while ago(do they shed when/after they mate?.)She is looking fairly thick and bulby around her tail section and her vent looks rather like it is gonna blow. She has just shed again which gets me thinking she is gravid and has around 25 days or so to go.Both male and female always shed around the same time, she has, he has not.I have seperated them. she has a heap of paper in the cage to go under but now i am thinking of doing up a nest box.Is paper alright in the box?any advise would be appreciated. .

i had 1 go 46 days another go 37,
When was the last time it ate.
Gravid snake usaully dont eat till they have laid so another sure way to check is offer her a feed if she knocks it back ,its a good sign.

Unreal! I'm just getting into keeping snakes since I was a youngster, but breeding them must be a great experience!, I cant wait to try! Must make you a little nervous I'd imagine.

Thanks guy's,
Nervous could be the right word.Every time i work past the room i have to pop my head and see if she has moved and just make sure everything is going well for her.I caught her climbing up a small branch that had me worried.Does anyone take their branches when females are gravid? My fingers are crossed ever so tightly that all goes to plan.
