They have also got very thin skin and bruise very easily, which is another reason not to handle them, I do believe you should just treat them like Venomous, admire them, hook them, but don't handle them! The Emerald tree boa's I kept were exactly the same.
There certainly not snakes for people that want to get them out alot like carpets etc..

They look that good i don't think i would need to handle them.
Would be very satisfied to sit and watch them all day and night.
Also heard they are not good travellers.
Shipping can really put them out how true would this be???

Shipping is always more of an issue for hatchlings, smaller animals, but they travel quite well, but have to be kept humid.
They do get shipped from Indonesia to the UK, so if you were thinking about shipping internally in Australia, no probs and I am sure the breeder would know the best way to pack them and keep them from drying out too much.
All that said, shipping can be risky and more of a worry with $5000+ snakes.

Very good words of wisdom NCHERPS. I agree completely they are worth it but it is a lot of money for a snake. I am a small time breeder just starting. I have 5 female diamonds and 2 males ready to try next year one of the females is 9 foot so she should be a good breeder. I also have childrens ready for next year. With Olives and waters as well as a few different species of carpets to be bred in the next 2 or 3 years. So hopefully in 5 years I maybe able to purchase a pair but that is a long way of. Having winged about their price they are the snake I am ultimateyl aiming to own as I think they are probably the best looking snake in Australia if not the world.
