GTS Rescue

I got a call out to this guy 2 days ago after someone jammed him in their screen door and left him there until I freed him. I now have him in my care until I am happy he hasn't sustained permanent injury. I did arrange for a vet to come and look at him to make sure his kinked back was not serious but she didn't show up. Poor guy but today I got him out and he is much calmer and the kink is less noticeable. So I dabbed betadine on the site where there is only a small laceration but I think he's almost right to go back to the bushland.

He isn't the easiest patient I've had as far as handling but found while I have his tail he hides in a dark bag and doesn't stress as much. The first day he was a full on stress-maniac - super fast whippy even had a lunge at me but tonight I had him on a hook and he even climbed back up over my arm, un worried. But he's going back home on the weekend, I don't think he needs my help for much more than that Lovely little thing. I'll get more pics of him but for now I only have these 2. Poor little guy was very frightened when I took these

Looks to me like a reasonably bad injury, I would persist with having a suitable vet check him over before releasing him.

Oh I will be MrMikk. Will be calling the vet up tomorrow to find out why she didn't turn up. The kink doesn't look as bad today but still want her advice before I let him go.

His movement is fine. I tapped his tail, he felt it, and moves it freely.

Awww he looks just like the one I have They really are a pretty little snake.

My vet did not turn up again today but promised she'll be here Saturday. I am happy to say that the kink in his back is almost straightened back out. But I still want the vet's opinion before I let him go. I have to persist with her because she is the better of the vets in town and comes to me. He has quietened a lot. Rather than my big scarey hands going in at him I am using a hook to get him which he seems much more calmer and even happy to venture up my arm. I am not handling him un-necessarily but glad he isn't panicking like he was on Day 1.
