Harold Cogger's Book (Reptiles & Amphibians)

Just to let you all know, there is a new edition of the Reptiles & Amphibians of Australia by Harold Cogger, but at the moment, it has not gone to print. Apparently there are legal issues that need to be resolved before it will be printed.

When I hear it becomes available, I will let you all know.

Also - On another note - Anyone out west of Sydney - Dymocks Penrith has just advised me that if anyone is looking for any reptile books, they will be more than happy to try to source it for you. (They can possibly also get some out of print books)

I'm not sure as to price for this. The book has not gone to print yet, so these details are not available yet. I would guess between $90-$120....

I'll let you all know when I hear anything more though.

Harold Cogger was the speaker at the South Coast Herp club meeting last night. It was a very informative presentation on Herps on Islands all over the Pacific region. Quite a few people brought their books along to get him to sign, me included.

Surely someone at the South Coast HC meeting would've asked Mr Cogger if a new copy was in the pipeline? He should know I suppose, being his work and all.

I tried to get this book via a bookstore and they did a little bit of research for me. Apparently it is not the book company that doesn't want to publish but Mr Cogger himself who doesn't want a new edition published and this impass is at the lawyers glaring at each other stage.

Dunno why he is taking this path but thats the current as of a coupla months ago from the publisher.

Cheers Hawkeye
