Paper a light globe box and a small dish for water, they are the main things you will require then its up to you to add whatever else you want to like perches and vines and stuff

Hi Leezel,.

Congrats on your first snake., I bet you cant wait
What type are you getting?

Heat cord or mat & a thermostat is a good start.

Yeah i forgot to say heatmat or cord with a thermostat as well, I find light globe box's to be the best hides for young snakes you can even cut them down to make them smaller.

A thermostatically controlled heat matt under 1/3 of the click clack.
A hide in both the hot and the cold end of the click clack. (I’ve used the little boxes that light bulbs come in, toilet roll with one end crushed and just any small cardboard box I can find)
Water bowl in the cool end of the click clack.

That’s about it. Oh you can add a perch in there too, mine likes to climb on hers at night.

same as everyone has already said..the usual termo attatched to a heat cord or mat.i use aspen for my bedding and but id also recomend a small perch as they naturally would strike downwards when it comes to feeding.here are a couple pics of some hatchie set ups...good luck with it all.

I just use newspaper in the bottom of mine, easier to clean up.

I have a Starmaid 20l (upright) container with newspaper on the bottom, 2 pieces of newspaper scrunched up for hides, a heat mat that is controlled by a probe thermostat, a water dish down the cool end and 3 perches for the snake to climb on. Dont forget to put air holes in the container/click clack.
