Probably about 5 - 6 times a day. its go me stumped and angry cause these globes are $15 each. |

I have been using the same globes for over 12 months with no problem since i stopped using the on/off type. Higher wattage bulbs tend to blow more often also, but in a 40w you shouldn't have a drama.
I normally use urs or exoterra infrared bulbs (ES type not bayonet).
I would try a different bulb, and if your still bowing them buy a dimming stat. Buy quality not quantity i say!!! |

Herpshop has the habistat and many other shops that sponsor the site sell the microclimate range. I personally only have mircoclimate stats and yet to have a problem, but have also heard nothing but good reports on habistat range and they are a touch cheaper.
A different bulb is a much cheaper option to try first, but you won't be dissapointed with a dimming stat. You will find it's much easier to maintain the needed temperature gradients. |
