I was wondering if anyone only has heating for the day period?
I at the moment have the heat coming on a timer at 7am - 10pm. I may be lucky because I also breed fish and keep a lot of aquariums in a purpose built brick room where the snake also are. The room temps only get to 22c at night even though outside has been low teen's and couple of single figure nights.
Does anyone else do this or see any problem with doing this.
The snakes are all eating very well and sheding as per normal.

I live in Se Qld and use heat during day and nothing at all at night (for most of my animals except a few specialist ones) This gives a natural cooling period in winter (cages stay fairly warm anyway and they don't get heat in the wild at night). All my males love it and really get into it after good cooling with 100% fertility.

What your doing sounds fine. An insulated room is the go, lot less heating equipment needed, lowers cost and the amount of electrical gear needed.
