My Jungle wont eat, hasn't in 3 months, put it down to hibernation but he has started to get active again. I have tried live and dead but hasnt been interested until Saturday when I attempted a live rat, he striked at it a few times than strangled it, killed it and let it go and wouldnt go near it again. I'm so confused and have run out of ideas. ANYONE??

Give him a while longer, the more you try to shove food in his face when he is not hungry the harder you will find it to get him feeding again. As long as he is active and looks well he should be alright. Try again in another couple of weeks once the weather starts to warm up and the daylight hours start to lengthen again. You may find he will eat then.

Good luck

Hey Ally - here is my reply to another recent similar thread.

This results in the meal rotting in the snakes belly eventually killing it.

So dont stress. It is quite normal.

All this of course assumes that you haven;t changed any of your caging circumstances recently and that you are maintaining adequate temperatures. Also that you haven't placed a small snake in a large cage thus stressing the crap out of it. That will also stop it eating.
