This is a post for any SE Qlds who are interested in a 2 day Herpetology course for beginners. The add was in the Gold Coast bulletin on the weekend. It is for 2 Saturdays, starting the 10th and concluding the 17th January and runs all day.(8am-5pm) Cost is $200. I went to both GC Bulletins and Currumbin's web sites to find a link with no luck so lucky me will type the relevant info. Evidently at the end of the course you will 1/ Gain knowledge and understanding on identification 2/ The understanding of Legislations and relevant Gov't bodies 3/ Captive - husbandry needs and maintenance 4/ Health, nutrition and reproduction of reptiles and Amphibians. This includes "Hands on". Sounds promising, hopefully it will be everything they are promising. If anyone is interested the contact number for Currumbin is 07 55341266. You need to ring them and they will send you an application form.

Incredible amount of response to this post I must say......Just a reminder for anyone southern Qld'ler or Northern Welshman that if you are interested the course starts this Saturday maximum 20 students and as of Monday they had 10 so there is room. It is a good excuse to meet fellow herps and surely even an experienced herper (in his/her opinion) could learn something.
By the way I'll be easy to find. I'm the good lookin' bloke.
