Hoppers to Weaners

My spotted has been feeding well on hoppers since we got him, but these days he seems to suck them down quicker than he used to, and the bump disappears faster. My question is: when can I move up another size in rats? Up to weaners.

Should I offer him one and see how he copes, or is that dangerous? I was told when he is full grown he'll eat hoppers and he isn't full grown, not even close I don't think.. Any advice would be tops.

PS Alternatively, can I give him two hoppers?

When he's fully grown he should be able to eat medium rats, I have a childreni and a mac that do.
As long as the weaner is no fatter than 3x the width of the snakes head no worries, if its too big you will only frustrate your snake because it won't be able to eat its food.
As a ROUGH guide, once it can swallow in under 5 mins its time to increase the meal size in my opinion.

Yes, of course you can use up the small ones you still have.

there are a few rules
about 20-25% of the pythons weight
about 2 time the width of the snakes head
what it can swallow in 10 minutes

i just go off the look of them, but i weighed a food item once and found it to be around percentage above.
