how do you breed snakes?

Hi there everyone. My friend and I have both got carpet snakes. (mines a female, his is a male) we are thinking about giving breeding ago but neither of us have done anything like it before and don't know anyone who has. were not sure how old our snakes are, although my female is about 8 to 9 feet long. (she wont sit still long enough for me to measure her properly.) And my friends is about 5 to 6 feet long. My female is alot thicker than the male, (about twice as thick) will the male be big enough? is there an age or size where they will no longer breed? We both have large enclosures with adequite lighting and heating but is there a certain temp at which they will breed? will we need to put them in a smaller enclosure? Is there a certain time of year that it has to be done? how long does the male and female have to be together? How will we know when they have bread? how many eggs should we expect her to lay and how many of those will survive to be adults? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. we are going to post photos soon.
