| | | How important are photos of parents Would you buy a hatchling without seeing pictures of the parents. I am looking at a BHP hatchling from a reputable breeder/company. But they are selling this for someone else and dont have any picture of the parents. |

If you want to breed them for a specific trait or colours ect then there is more need to see what the parents are like.

| | | | chris-cool - yeah thats why I wanted to see the photos for. But I assume this would be more important for say a diamond than a BHP?. I assume a BHP will really only fade as it ages.
Correct me when I'm wrong
bylo - I am confidant that the seller is reputable. They have been mentioned on APS several times before. But I dont know who has breed them.
junglepython2 - I am looking for a pet. But if I end up wiht a beautiful speciman I may want to breed in a few years.
I suppose I'm asking would you buy a python without seeing the pictures of the parents.
Thanks for your comments so far. |

after all its not really a big ask when you are giving them a big wad of money . |

But if the parents are unrelated and or wild caught, only time will tell what the young will look like as both parents will carry a number of different gentic traits, some that dont show in them but may well show up in the young. |

How much can you gauge from just looking at the youngster? But then again how much can you guage from any photo of a parent? The flash could be on/off to make the patterning more vibrant/different, pics could be old/new, of differents snakes as to what they are being claimed to be.. :S Tis a gamble imo. I would always prefer to see the animals in question in real life but as you can't.. hmm.. Good luck in your descision!
