How long????

Your thoughts please...

A month ago I had my 2 adult breeding coastals for sale. A couple deposited $100 into my account to hold them. They never mentioned anything else, like how long for or anything... That was 4 weeks ago. I have emailed them 5 times since then to ask when they will pick them up, or to at least make some contact with me in regards to it, but I've heard absolutely nothing. I have had lots of other enquires about the pair and could sell them today.
I'm in a moral dilema...
Is a month a fair time to wait without any contact from them and now I should look at selling them to someone else??

What do you reckon????

It's a sketchy situation. They didn't give you a time period on collection, but you didn't stipulate one either...but you have tried to contact them several times.

If I were you, I'd hang on to them...but if I were the purchaser, I'd also understand you selling them.

I guess if it were me,you have tried to contact them many times and no reply,so I would mail them again giving a deadline or their money will be refunded unless they contact you with further details.Once the deadline has passed and if no reply, refund the money and sell them. You have done what you can,if I was buying I would definitely be in contact but their could be a reason why they haven't contacted you.Hard situation, but you have tried to do the right thing so I am sure they will understand if you sell them after a deadline was given.Good luck

Yeah contact them a final time giving them a deadline, even though they have put a deposit on them there's only so long you can expect to be holding them for.. After all holding onto them is using up your food, electricity, time and space.

If it were me, I would be selling them and when they finally do get in contact with you, just refund them back their money cause they are obviously not that interested if they can't even respond to an email. In future, I would stipulate a time limit of how long you are willing to hold an animal for.

Yeah... I made the (wrong) assumption that if they were keen enough to give me a deposit, they'd be keen enough to contact me with more details... I know if it was me buying, I'd be trying to keep in contact.

I guess we live and learn.

I would send one last email explaining they have 7 days to contact you if no contact is made the animals will be sold and their deposit returned ...
make sure to keep the emails .

another thing to think about , do you give them the whole deposit back ??
you have been feeding / heating these animals for a 4 week period , I know its not much at 4 weeks , but what about 8 weeks or 12 weeks ??

There is your answer........very diplomatic!

I agree with dickyknee, give them another email,if they dont reply within 7days,go ahead sell them.I would keep some of the deposit, considering you could have already sold them.Cheers
