| | | | feeding him
You shouldn't have bought something which was not feeding.
any way you are attatched to it now so you need to get him feeding within the next couple of months.
What scenting did you use skink or bird?
try both.
The hair idea works well as long as the fuzzie is only about 6 or 7 days old.Too big otherwise.
Keep the room dark so he can't see you or other movements to distract him.
They sometimes will not feed if there is large things (you) moving in the background as they may be frighteded or nervous. They will always check their safety first before doing anything like feeding as this makes them vulnerable.
No offence to vets but a reptile vet is usually NOT A REPTILE KEEPER with the relevant experience.
They are never one and the same.
get an experieced keeper if you have to force ASSIST feed.
someone who HAS DONE THIS BEFORE
You can wiggle a live fuzzy against his body and he might coil around it and constrict it.
If this happens MOVVE AWAY SLOWLY and close the door and don't go back until morning.
Is he on the floor of the cage or in a tree when you are attempting to feed him?

Thanks. I understand i should have waited but i was assured i could replace it if it did not feed as he was keeping three out of the 15 that hatched. He has as stated offered a swap, but i am attatched as you also stated. The reason being was that he had buyers lining up, there were three there when i was there and understandably, he wanted to sell them all. Thanks for the advice, will try fuzzy, the little bugger will just not get agitated, he hides his head under his body, which i find very funny

Keep him in the click clack, a tank will be too big for him and he wont feel safe.

I managed to get a little diamond eating on the weekend.
I like you tried a fair few different methods.
I caught a skink out in the garden (with a forked tail!!) and put this inside a container with the snake.
I let the snake have a few sniffs and then it had a few lunges at it, but i had a little stick there and kept pushing it away(the snake).
I let this go on for about 10 minutes and i then scented a pinkie mouse and it smashed it!!
Good luck with it!!
Perhaps keep it undisturbed in a low traffic area for a while?

I'm (just) a newbie but I've used a wriggling skink tail to great effect. Dropped it very close to the pinkie. I assumed any parasites in a skink are confined to the gut. (Interested to hear if I'm wrong from others).

Took me at least twelve goes to get one (or at least a tail) and then when i did trap one trying to pick it up was another story!!!
Not as easy as when you are a kid!! (and you get some strange looks from passerbys when you get one and are grinning triumphantly )
