Same here Maggie, I reckon natural light is the only way to go. They get more UV from natural light even on a dull day than they get from a tube which they are rarely in the range of anyway

Its funny how people consider diamonds to be nocturnal. I have been keeping them outdoors where they naturally occur for 11 years and have almost never seen them active at night. And this is from checking them twice every night with a torch for those 11 years.

I was thinking about getting a uv tube for our carpet, but going by what I have read in this thread, I will just buy one of them plastic "Reptile Cages" the local pet and reptile store has and Monty can sit out on the outside table for a few hours a week. At the moment we take him out and sit with him in the sun. He loves it and spend almost all of the time sitting in direct sun light. On second thoughts, we might just keep doing what we are doing now.

All i use is the energy safe white light u/v globes with vitamin supps every feed and my 2yr old is looking great.... colour and health-wise. (the occasional evening stroll under the weakening rays while owner beering :wink: )
