There is no way of telling. A diamond from Gosford is just the same as a diamond from Wollongong. Somewhere down the line people got it into there heads that diamonds found up north(gosford) are full of yellow and diamonds from the south(Wollongong) are very dark with not much yellow. High gold diamonds are easily found down here in the Illawarra region just as i am sure dark diamonds can be found in Gosford. You cannot look at a diamond and say " Thats a gosford diamond" or " Thats a Wollongong diamond", based on its physical appearance. There is no way of telling.

They vary almost as much as jungles but the typical Gosford diamond as i know it is a nice high yellow with nicely marked yellow"not white" rosettes but obviously there are various exceptions!!!

Its just a name and if you ask people who live there you can get all manner of types. From Bob's black slugs to greenish yellow. The only way to tell is if you can find who caught its ancestors.

Well, talking to a Bredl guy the other day bout Carpet Pythons? He reckons they are all just Carpets, and that SA has the prettiest ones. Lotsa yellow in em. Why do we have to have different names for Carpets?

Gosford has all varieties of Diamonds, as stated by others, from Black to high Yellow. You can find the same throughout the rest of the Diamond range.

The only thing about Gosford Diamonds is that there are more yellows here then most otherplaces. Theres nothing special about them, theres just more.
