RE: hypo jaguar carpet

That's the red hypo jaguar carpet that was mentioned in the other thread recently.
That photo was taken at around a year old, and it lost the white appearance as it got older, and turned a nice light yellow.
It's not a american mix, it is owned by an american 'Will Leary', but was imported from europe.
It is pure coastal carpet, just a very unusual morph.

RE: jag carpet

I've seen a photo of one taken in the wild. Not quite as good looking as that one, but close to it.

RE: jag carpet

That photo has been posted on here before. It's ok I guess if you are after a snake that looks like a living bird poo.

RE: jag carpet

I saw it about two years ago, it's in Sydney. And my friend doesn't like discussing it with people, for obvious reasons. He won't even tell me the locality.

I've also seen a pic that closely resembles this jaguar carpet but it wasn't a jag it was a black and white jungle. We don't have jaguar carpets here in Oz and they are apparently a geneti mutation from 2 common coastals which have a co dominant inherited gene, meaning that a jag bred to a coastal will produce 50% normals and 50% jags and even then the normals don't look normal.I don't think the genetics of these guys are fully understood yet but i very highly doubt we have jaguar carpets free ranging here in any part of Australia....
