I don't know if you can do much for him now if he has eaten. hopefully he will pass any rocks after digesting the rat pup. Probably best if you change your substrate, to something else, so the same thing won't happen again! I know the rock sand looks great, but it isn't the best for your critter. Most people use newspaper as it is easy to change and keep everything all clean, plus has the advantage of not having to worry about feeding issues. Otherwise, take him out and put him into a tub to feed him then put him back after he has eaten his meal.

Should be fine imagine what gets on animals they eat out in the bush???I would change to newspaper myself,a nice thick layer of it gives great insulation and soaks up any mess and so easy to clean especially with more than just a few animals.
Just keep your eye on him and as said if you want to keep using the sand feed in a tub,all the best!

also a problem you can have with snakes on sand is when they poo. Their cloaca can pick up sand when they do..I've seen an autopsy of a snake that had been fed on sand and died from starvation because its intestines were impacted with sand..Its also a pain to pick it all up when they mess all over it.IMO
