Yours and mine look like twins Kenshin
As soon as I see the word Darwin on here my bias just takes over. I think these are beautiful snakes. I have no idea why they are so cheaply priced when compared to things like coastals and the like, but I think at times these are as stunning as some of the Jungles (even though I have a passion to get one of those in the not too distant future )
Anyway, handling is the key I believe. Mine is as placid as

Tourett this is the only enclosure i have it in atm it dosent give the same intense spot of heat as a globe or a ceramic but keeps the heat about 300mm below it at 32-34 they seem happy though
Also i got the 50 watt one which is reccomended for 1m2 heating I got mine from animalattraction I highly reccomend him .

I bought mine from a breeder who convieniently lives within walking distance from my place Mick - she also breeds rats & rabbits etc so food supply is always fresh, handy & cheap
Here's a pic of the Dad - he's an absolute beaut! His name is 'Smokey' and he's a big boy! |

I've been going over and handling it on weekends because I'm a sucker for getting bitten by things As you'd know it's a bit of hit & miss with hatchlings at times - certainly Darwins are rather dull looking when they are young. This photo is one from the most recent clutch - I'm thinking that this might actually be the one she has left  I haven't had the tape measure over Smokey but he is really big for a Darwin. I know I've been through this before, I think I had quoted saying he was over 9ft, but in reality, he'd be closer to 8ft (I've got to get a tape over this guy sooner or later :wink |

I have only handled 1 darwin and she was the crankiest ***** I have ever handled. Didn't bite, just head butts over and over again hissing the whole time.
