i have one, there awesome munchie, my one is very very tame, when i first got her she was a little snappy but about a week or so later after handling her she calmed down.

okay well here a few tips and im still only a begginer too..

make sure you have a heatmat connected to a thermostat, and place it under a the enclousure floor, what i found best was putting a hide where the heatmat was and another hide in the cooler end,

however this is not the only heat source available to you...

make sure you have something the snake can drink out of - obvious i know.

my python loves to climb and stay up on the things it climbs on, so having something it can move along would be a good idea

and yeah pretty much the basics

remember dont be intimidated by the snake

dont be afraid of getting bitten, it's in their nature to lash out and bite when they feel threatened.

however through regular handling the snake will most likely calm down and know you aren't going to hurt it, and you will better understand the snake.

--------- if i have made any mistakes in this reply i would very much appreciate any experts to correct me. i dont want to be giving any wrong information.

Thumbs up

Hi. My daughter has an Atherton she is nearly 6mths old now. BREE snapped only twice in the first week. Now she can get her out and they give each other "kisses". She is so placid and loves to sit in your hand.

Kellie also has the heat cable underneath her containers and she has placed a hide in the warmth and cool areas and she swaps and changes where she sleeps.

I have now bought my own snake, a coastal 8 1/2 mths old. Bree has wormed her way into my affections though I was so scared to hold her in the beginning. Only bought mine (Tara) home on Sun so haven't tried to hold her since he said to wait 2 days so she can settle in. Tomorrow I get to hold her !!!
