As far as I know an antibiotic is fed as a preventative measure but there are no growth stimulating drugs used. I am doing a stint at inghams as well... but not a hatchery

Its not long. The speed of growth is achieved by keeping the chickens in optimal growing conditions and the prophylactic use of antibiotics. I think steroids are illegal and I doubt if they are used. I haven't heard of any athlete using the excuse "I had a chicken sandwich" after failing a drug test. |

For that matter if it has affect on us either. Occasional chooky feeds probly wouldnt hurt. why not buy and incubate eggs yourself?
