Is he hungry???

Our new children's python ate beautifully when we fed him on Saturday, now today (Wednesday) he appears to be "hunting" again. He's 8 months old and I fed him one pinkie. Was that too little? Should I feed him two pinkies or a bigger mouse? I don't want to starve him nor do I want to overfeed him.

You should be able to feed him something a little bigger i'd say. maybe a fuzzy mouse or bigger. depends how big he is and how wide round the belly

it should be at least on fuzzie mice if not weaners. you could still feed off what ever pinkies you have left though may be 2 at a time 5-6 days apart

He hasn't pooed yet, so I will feed another pinkie tomorrw (Thursday) and then again on Monday and we'll see how we go. Once I've used up my frozen supply of pinkies I'll progress to something larger.... unless anyone has any differing advice?????

Don't feed so close together? Just feed once a week. No hurry. They can go for ages without food.

Hey Lesa, He defenatly needs something bigger then a pinky. Offer him 2 pinkies at a time until you have used them up and then buy some fuzzy rats. Like others have said, if you give ur snake a desent feed ( not just one pinky) you should feed it after it poo's. That is a good rule to follow, as u won't starve nor overfeed your snake, taking into consideration that you give him a "desent feed" everytime.

My spotted pythons ( similar to childrens ) Seem to get fed about every 4-6 days, as thats how long it takes for them to pass...
Not really the funest thing to talk about, but that info might help
Bill.

you would be amazed at the size of prey they can get down, i was a bit worried about feeding too big a while ago but give him a go on bigger prey items cus one bag of fuzzies is cheaper than 2 bags of pinkies
