Is it wrong of me? maccie pairing...

Hey gang, I'd like to find a male for my spotted and have been toying with the idea of pairing her up with a blond. My one is from cape york (very specific I know), and at 18 months is about 280 grams and nearly 100cm's. She was sold to me as a standard maccie, but she's got a very light background, has awesome blotching which is getting lighter and lighter with each shed, and is growing well. I would like to pair her with a blond to try and clean up the blotching and extend the neck stripe (if you get what I mean) in the offspring. Is it wrong of me to pair her with a blond? Or is she a possible blond in plain clothing?

Pic is a bit washed out from the flash, but its always hard to get a true representation of her colours.

Cheers, Chris

Dragon Lady, Cape York is quite a big area, so if you mean that from a locale specific point of view I don't think its really relevant to my situation. I'll never know the locale info so I won't be able to pair her up with something from her area, (except a sibling) and I wouldn't get her a locale specific male and start palming off the offspring as such. My undertanding was that blonds came from Cape York originally anyway.

Hi Chris,
She is blonder than a lot I see for sale! Cooktown is where blonds originated from and yours shows many of their characteristics. I love how the patches go rusty!! lol
I would have no problem putting a blonde male over her, the offspring will be blonde too imo.
I have never been overly concerned with mixing localities, if you are not certain to begin with then all you can do is try for the nicest macs you can. She is a nice mac - with the right male, Im sure you will get some offspring you will be more than happy with the results,
Cheers
Adam.

As long as you sell them as unknown locality Macs, there's no drama.

Very true Jonno, I certainly wasn't 'nominating' a locale for the animal,
to me - blonde is a colour phase more than a locale.
I trust by his initial post or my comments Chris wouldnt declare them locale pure,
but your comment definitely needed adding to clarify,
Cheers
Adam
