I think that using venomoids in public shows with children is just plain wrong. Here is this guy, walking around with "venomous" snakes around his neck infront of kids. We all know how impressionable kids are, those kids go home and see a red belly black and go, "thats just like the one the man had round his neck" and pick it up, next thing you have a young kid in a potential life threatening situation.
I've never seen his shows, only photos, and he might be a good guy, and he may well know a hell of a lot about snakes, but I think he acts like a complete mooron.

I have three of RH books two signed - I think as a person he was a great guy till I saw his show - after the show me and RH talk in the car park. I even found out I lived within walking distance of his house- that’s when RH told me how he got his snakes to do what he does with them.
He did tell me he uses fly spray, his snakes where devenomed (I thought that meant taking the fangs out) so I guess I was mistaken there.
And he also said he lost some every now and then.
I left there with a different attitude towards him.
And the kids seeing what he was doing and wanting to copy him.
Dropping a death adder and picking it up like it was a toy snake – what was that teaching kids?
Then I was handling a collets snake which I found out later was Venomous.
Now what would had happened if me or some kid had found one in the bash and picked it up thinking it was harmless? This snake is in the top 20 most venomous snakes in the world.
This happen 18 months or so ago maybe he has changed how he does his shows now lets hope.

I don't know what dragon_tail is on, but I totally disagree with Hosers practices in this field! I really don't give a rats how much experience he claims to have! plus I've heard other stories from reliable sources which I found quite alarming in regards to his venomoids. He might be a great bloke, but it doesn't excuse this sort of thing IMO.

errr, what the hell is wrong with that guy....
no one should be removing internal organs of their snakes.....
or spraying them with fly spray so that they can juggle them for the amusement of a paying audience. |

I have my Flame suit on and helmet ready for the bashing etc
Daughter at a show a couple of months ago, by the way she has been around reptiles scice she was born and does know the difference has given talks in most grades on the differance between pythons and snakes.
A new friend of hers attended also, and was fascinated and came away with a great deal of information so much so that she took her family to see the show, so that they would not goe after the snakes in the yard with a shovel, in-dangering themselves etc.
(We have a lot of vens in our area in summer.)
I found it to be educational professional and most of all he stressed that all wild animals will bite,
if you are close enough to see the difference between a lizard and a snake you are too close.
The general public went away educated and better able to deal with snakes in their yards.
Has anyone considered that a large python can kill in under 3 minutes if handled incorrectly?
See this all the time yet no comments on that.
Flame away

B&W - Why would you start a thread on this after you came into chat, asked if it was real, as you did above, got your answer then started to bad mouth Mr Hoser when you knew nothing about his practices or methods used (not that i agree with it) however you were just saying it because everybody else was. Was this thread really necessary?

Inkslinger,
That pic of your daughter holding that snake(eastern brown?), what guarantee do you have that its actually a completely harmess? this guy does these operations himself without any vet skills or qualifications yet your happy to let your daughter hold a snake like that????? Who's to say it has been rendered completely harmless? I personally think you'd ave to have rocks in your head to trust that idiot
