| | | its me again, nervous guy w/ redbelly in yard
thanks for all the advice. just wanted to ask a couple of questions please. is it true that rbb snakes have up to 40 young at a time? there may be a shipload of these guys in my yard!
would they be likely to live under sheds/shipping containers? or maybe inside sheds -geez now im scarin myself! lol i was told by wires a few years ago about the blacks keeping browns away - the wires fellow was extremely helpful, and it was his chats to me that educated me enough to not try to harm the snake, but to understand it. (im still incredibly uncomfortable around it and im on edge in the yard)
cheers all,
toasty

Remember that as 40 babies consume a lot of food unless you have LOTS of food about the place they will all move on.

I dont think RBB keep browns away but do keep their numbers down as they feed on on the Hatchies/Juveniles.

Most of the offspring will not see through their first year. And your scared. These little guys are born under the gun. They also have no interest in you, they dont want to eat you, they dont want to bite you. Use common sense, acquaint yourself with First Aid proscedures. Inform your children as much as possible. Be realistic and not dramatic. Dont scare them. Organise a trip to the Australian Reptile Pk at Somersby.
Do some research, get set up and buy a python. I know you want to.
