Dobermanmick, at the time Dave thumped him, he was elevated to automatic hero status by every herp who Oshea had hasselled or blackmailed. We all wished it had been us that had clobbered him. The only thing Dave did wrong on that great day, was to not hit him a lot more and harder . You learn by your mistakes

Yes obee I did used to reside in Innisfail. It is a top spot to live I miss it a lot. And just to clear things up a bit I didn't beat John or Dean up I just gave them a few punchs to the head and it ended up in a wild scrap in my lounge room. But in the end common sense prevailed and I just stopped, after all how far do you go ?. To get away with assulting police officers you have to kill them, dispose of there bodys, hide thier vehicle and hope that no one new they ever visited you etc etc etc. If you don't it means a ton more police, or then the army. I v'e got to go now I think my head is going to explode.

Oshea went for Neil Charles in a big way. I was even visited by Osheas sidekick, Dean, who tried to blackmail me into giving false evidence against Neil. I refused. Neil was taken to court by Oshea, but luckerly their charges had no merit or evidence and was thrown out of court.

2 sides of Oshea. What a joke. Ask anyone around in the early to mid 1990's. He openly blackmailed people with threats of charges to give false evidence or to not give any evidence at all. Ask Kirt Walker of Brisbane. He threatened people jobs if they were to give evidence against his case. He even had keepers wear wires to gather evidence for him. Yes he was a real piece of work. The perfect honest cop. Nobody has to take my word about Oshea. Just ask people like Bob Buckley, Neil Charles, Kirt Walker who are all very respected in the herp world and see what they have to say about this very honest Qld Detective

Is alive and well in WA. Alot of people are keeping herps here unlicensed but have had them for years and licensing only been in for 18 months. To quote a CALM officer ' herpers in WA have been f......d around for too long, it's time to give them a break'. Have only met one that has that opinion though.

Sherm, In NSW alone there is still a massive underworld with people keeping literally hundreds of thousands of exotics herps. You have no idea whats out there.

Have had some good conversations with Bob Buckley or Boblius Bucklei which is a nick i gave him cause every animal he describes by scientific and taxanomical names. He has some good stories to tell that's for sure, very smart and interesting bloke. Also got to handle e few juvenile chon  dros whilst there...

And yep sherm there certainly is an unerworld to the herp hobby.

A little off topic but i wouldn't be surprised at all that there are pure Aussie greens in peoples collections from havin their own greens die and were illegaly taken from the wild, but on the books it will still look the same

Browns, I dare say you could be correct, but at this stage they must be keeping them very quiet as we haven't seen any yet. You always hear rumours, but untill proven they are just rumours.

Browns, what did young Bob have to say about his mate, John Oshea. I bet it was all peaches and cream
