Jungle or Coastal

on herpshop there is an add (310-903) for a jungle python. The photo looks to me like a coastal carpet. Which is it??

I was told that jungles have a distinctive pattern on the head, somewhat like a "skull" (which incidentally is why you can tell the jaguar pythons (diamondxjungle) are jungle python offspring, apparently). This snake seems to have it too, so yeah, my amateur opinion is that it's a jungle :-)

Some Jungles also come with creams, greys, browns etc (I think it may be dependant on what area they originate). What must be remembered with Jungle carpets (black and gold being most common for eg is that they are bred specifically for that contrast. Many breeders of jungles will hold back hatchlings and breed parents to offspring,or inbreed siblings etc etc to create there own blood lines and perfect the color and markings of there collection. As a further eg: a 50/50 B&G is just a black and gold Jungle perfected to have a 50/50% rate of both black and yellow markings, looking much more like a yellow snake with black stripes rather than vice versa. This strain fetches top dollar and is the most wanted blood line of jungles to date IMO.
