|  | Sponsor | Join Date: Jan-05 Location: western suburbs of sydney Gender:  | | | | jungle pics Its realy frustateing when the pics look much better on my digital camera.Then they do onece i post them.Because in the flesh and after i shoot photos of them with my sony 4.1 megapixel cybershotthey look stunning like most of them truely are.As they are in the flesh.But after posting the photos and looking at them on the thread.the shots disapoint me.For some reason my camera doesnt transfur the true colouration of the yellow.Could this just be glare or am i doing somethink wrong.If someone out there knows what im doing wrong please let me know Because its makeing my shots look bad shane |

Direct sunlight (with the scales going away from you) is the only way ive come close to getting true colour to reproduce in a pic.
So if you find the secret - let me know too!

|  | Subscriber | Join Date: Jan-03 Location: NTH QLD | | | | RE: jungle pics Shane,some of those lookk like jungle diamonnd hybrids as they do in the USA....try a different setting on your cam but it won't change the hybrid look of those jungles...i have some the same and they look spectacular but after discussions with various welll experienced herpers ihave to say these guys have some diamond in them...wether from Oz or the US but they are nothing like any purte jungle from the wild no matter what locality...If you can proove me different i'd love to see what you can show me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't be so sure that those jungles have got diamond in them. I am not saying they have or have not but can say for certainty that I have seen that phase in the wild. We do get jungles that show predominate spotting as their in between banding colour. I am assuming this is what you are talking about that makes you think that they are not pure jungles. Is this the reason why you think they are crossed or am I wrong ?. |

For a start the blotching pattern although found very ocassionally in wild jungles is more like diamond.And I can't say that I remember seeing yellow spotting right accross the back in wild jungles either. |

|  | Sponsor | Join Date: Jan-05 Location: western suburbs of sydney Gender:  | | | | JUNGLE PICS Browns in answer to the question .To be truthful i cant be 100% sure.I know ididnt cross it and would not .Ive been breeding for almost 19 years And I breed to try and improve the speceis i keep!And i dont beleave in captive breeders hybidizeing great australian pythons.And i originally purchased it off a very reputable breeder here in n.s.w and i know he got his line off an even more reputable breeder up in far north Q.L.Dand i beleave both when they tell me they have not crossed the two.And i myself have seen both versions in the wild.I keep both the current versions available in the high yellow jungles.The nice3 clean black like charcol form .And the more spotted form and i and freinds aquired 5 animals out of that clutch and the male on my left sholder was the only one out of the 5 that ended up with the yellow spotting crossing its dorsal region.And I dont wish to start another 20 page thread with list members battleing it out with different beleafs.Lets just say i didnt cross them and would not .And it doesnt realy matter in the overall scheem of things and who ever is right want ghange anything .THe sun will strill rise tomorrowmorning and set tomorrow night and lets face it to me its a stunning animal .Over the next two or three serasons il pic females with less spotting to breed it with and keep a close check on all the young produced to see if i can lesson the spotting just for my own curiosity not because i dont like the spotted form butt just to try and answer thne question to see weather picking the less spotted animals for breeding will produce less spotting or weather it makes no difference.And the high spotting stays regardless.Maybe that could tell us weather it was something added or something thats there to stay like an inherent trait time will tell .Youd think if it was an added thing and you didnt keep doing it it would eventully breed out.Its certainly something to think about SHANE
