We have recently aquired a Jungle.
I've seen nearly every picture on the net and on AP&S and it seems the areas they come from determine their coloring.
Ours is apparently from Cooktown, she's not quite gold but still beautifully yellow colored.
Can anyone shead some light on how many different breeding strains there are and what sort of colors they are as the internet only gives only a few?
I have found the the Palmerston seem to be the most gold, true/false?. Atherton is the most common? also seen Mission.

Atherton are generally larger and not so gold - there are Palmerston, Mission, Tully, Julatten (off the top of my head)
How old is your Jungle? Colour develops as the snake ages, most young jungles have a yellow/cream colour that gets progressively more yellow as they age and shed...

Athertons just like any locality can have a great variation to them, but some of the best B&G jungles I have seen have been "Athertons". There are some not so well coloured, but that is like every single locality. Infact probably the lushest gold I have seen was on an atherton jungle!! Palmerstons, Mission Beach, Tully and Julatten all have there Hot coloured animals and the ok ones too! | | |
