Hi there guys,
My favorite jungle recently shed, and I took a pic of her to share! I am hoping to breed her this comming season. She has great colour, but what I really love is her pattern. If she had the reduced head pattern she'd practically be a Jungle Jag!!!
What do you guys think of her??
Cheers,
Brett.

That's a lovely snake and I'm not surprised you really like her. She may well be every bit as good looking as a 'jag', but she is completely different and you'd never confuse her with one. Good luck breeding her, I'm sure she'll produce some gorgeous babies

This is the male I intend on breeding with her. Conan, he was breed by peter krauss, stunning boy, I'm hopeing that their offspring will be off the chart! He is a very small male, with a full body unbroken lateral stripe!

It's a nice looking snake but as Sdaji said it's not really that similar to a Jag, a breeding with the other animal you showed could well produce something Jag like though.

Yes Boa, I know, that's my plan! The main difference is the head pattern though! With Jags it's very reduced. I have seen some posted on Morelia pythons with the head pattern, but not as good in the body pattern. These were from Aust. someone's secret project, definately!!!.and to Sdaji, I wasn't saying she was a jag, mearly that she had the patterning down her body and I felt she is a particularly beautiful specimin of a jungle python.

I hope in the future the 2 animals you have there can produce something as beautiful as this snake.
or this one
Reduced head pattern is part of it but it is the bold uniform markings that distinguish a Jag. Even on Moreliapython there have been snakes likened to Jags that have fallen well short.

SnakePower: I know you weren't trying to claim she was a true jaguar carpet. I would never dream of daring to argue with you about the beauty of your snake and you have every right to be extremely proud of her but she doesn't look even reminiscent of a jag to me. Saying she doesn't look like a jaguar carpet is in no way saying she is any less beautiful and in no way am I trying to say anything bad about your lovely snake. This sort of confusion seems to be reasonably common in Australia, someone should probably type out a list of all the jaguar characteristics, or at least some of the major ones. As well as the phenotypic characteristics which separate jaguars from non jaguars is the mode of heritability (it is inherited as a Mendelian dominant, or I suppose you could call it co-dominant if you consider being a dead leucistic to be a trait).
As for the "hush hush breeding project" rumours in Australia, the jaguar mutation occured overseas and recently, so any "jaguars" in Australia are not true jaguars or are either illegal imports or their progeny.
