so i have had my jungle for about 2 weeks now and she won't eat. i was wondering how long its ok for her to not eat. I have tried small rats(which is what the pet store guy recommended) and mice. she doesn't seem to want anything to do with them at all. i have tried on 2 seperate occasions now to feed her. should i be worrying yet?

Not enough information mate,........how old is this jungle?????.....when did it last feed???????.......when did it last shed???????
I'm guessing that it is just going through a settling in period.
Any snake no matter what size or age it is can go for some months without eating, keep it warm and leave it alone to settle in.

No you shouldnt be worrying yet at all. Pythons can go without a meal for months. She is adjusting to her new surrounds. Give her at least another 2wks to settle in, provide plently of hides, and dont handle her (yes this is the hard part), only go in there to fill the water bowl and clean up any droppings etc. She needs to feel safe and ssecure before she will eat. Also when did it shed last, as most snakes about to shed wont eat a thing. Also the heat might not be adequate, make sure she has a hot spot of 30-32 deg and a cold spot around the 26mark. Saying all this though, it definetely sounds like she needs to settle in first - nearly all snakes need this before they will feed. One of mine last year took 6wks then ate like a ravenious pig! Good Luck!
