Wink Just Some Bredli Questions!

Well, I was almost set on getting a stimmie, although after Nikki's thread and doing some research, im not sure which to get.
Just wondering some things about Bredli's:
How much would 1 cost atm?
Full grown size?
Easy to breed?

Cheers

Bredli is a great 1st snake.
They get around 8 to 9 foot long and are one of the easier pythons to breed.
One would cost between $300 to $400.
Cheers

A full size adult Bredli would be happy in a 4 foot x 2 foot x 2 foot enclosure (at minimum).
If you have the room, you can go a little bigger. You can make it higher with climbing branches ect.
Although if you get a hatchling Bredli, you will have a few years before you have to upgrade your enclosure.

Go for it - great snakes! There are plenty for sale at the moment from folks on this site, on HerpTrader, Southern Cross, Snake Ranch, etc.

If anyone has caresheets or detailed info, pm me or post here please!
And,
I was thinking of a 5x2x4(LxDxH)...if i got one
Also,
Could i keep it in tubs until into adult enclosure, or tubs to a med. size enclosure to adult enclosure?
I have a 4ftx1.5x1.5 sitting around.

Hi Armond,
Diamonds dont get much bigger the Bredlis, they both like to climb and the same type of enclosure would suit both.

That 5 foot enclosure sounds perfect for it. house it in the tub (click-clack) for the 1st few months. Then when you handling it, getting it used to you, let it explore the enclosure also. Getting it used to the enclosure (let it explore 1 hour at a time) after a while you can leave it in there. You can get a small python used to a big enclosure and have it stress free if you take your time. Ive had 50 cm pythons living happily in a 5 foot enclosure. The trick is, DONT just dump them in there and leave them.

SO andy you reckon at around the 3-4ft mark start putting it in the big enclosure for an hour or so for around 1-2 weeks...and then place it in there full time?
Would that size enclosure be ok for a breeding pair or not?

Cheers

i think it'll be OK, just i think they may get territorial with their size, in an enclosure , not HUGE.

I probably won't breed, until i get quite experienced in that area

If you get a pair of Bredlis, keep them seperate. Put the female in the big 5 foot enclosure. The male will be fine in the 4 foot one you have.
Once they reach 6 foot long (about 3 years old) You can put them togeather, after you have cooled them down 1st.
