There is some good advice there. My advice would be to ensure the enclosre is built in such a way to directly minimise contact with the animal, especially during feeding.

Oh, and do some courses on first aid (I am pretty sure it is a licence requirement), also try and get some snake handling (venomous) courses under your belt.

if anyone could help that wuld be awesome!!
Leave the anitivenom to people who now how to use it, also you probably can't get it and if you did it would cost you heaps, some times they dont administer it as it could do more damage then good. Red bellied blacks are a great snake, but aren't all placid as you are probably aware, but if your getting a red bellied black incase of you being bitten and a death adder cause you know you wont handle it then think again, some people i know that have been bitten are by there placid vens and one of there mates that had heaps of exsperience with them was bitten by his adder and was in a comer for 9 weeks. Never think it wont happen, doesn't matter what type of ven you have if its even just a red bellied black you could still die later from liver fail or some other type of medical condition from the bite later on. At the end of the day it all comes down to how much do you love them, if your like me then you will have them and should live confutable with them as i have great respect for them. I wont say it wont happen to me, but i dont take chance's with them. Im more likely to be bitten by a wild one walking in the bush or capturing one then having them in captivity. its more the rush taking adrenalin junkies that get bitten.

cheers steve

good luck its great fun.
cheers steve
