I have spoken to a US Jungle breeder who keeps trios together year round. Even freakier is that this breeder also allows both females to maternal incubate their clutches in the same enclosure with great success. And this was a reputable breeder of many years not just some 1st timer.
Now that all goes against my opinions as I prefer to keep my animals seperated & artificially incubate. So I guess it all comes down to personal preferance

I am very curious to test this out myself when I have enough snakes and see if two confident snakes allowed to safely roam free in a living room meet up and travel together...HOWEVER each snake's temprement (sp?) is different..so even that that is not a good indication...
So what shall we do..?? Trail and error?
Just give things ago and hope that they work out correctly?
Pherhaps...

Yes I think you will find that keeping snakes together in pairs or even trios is MUCH more common than you think. The only real issue is the feeding and that really doesn't have to be a major problem. Quote:

tatelina, in a way yes.
I relocated snakes on the sunshine coast for around 15 years and have been on a number of herp trips with scientists catching snakes for reshearch etc, and the only time i have ever seen pythons together is during mating season, ie male/female together when mating, and male/male together when combating. female/female together - never.

This is just a repeat of what has already been said but housing more than one snake in a enclosure is okay as long as you appreciate and can adequately deal with potential problems at feeding time. I do it myself, and for me this is more of a case of connivance than an ideal choice.

Yes I think convenience is a big factor in it and while I agree it isn't the ideal choice it must be remembered that keeping a snake in a wooden box isn't the ideal choice. By and large snakes kept together seem totally disinterested in each other except at breeding time. Lets face it because snakes in the wild don't shack up together in a tree doesn't mean it is in any way problematic in captivity.
There are also quite a few species of snakes such as Garter and Rattle Snakes that congregate during the winter in enormous numbers.
