With all the talk about photoperiod and UV lighting etc, can someone shed some light on how healthy those drawer type enclosures and for keeping pythons. Sure enough they are temperature controlled but what about the lack of light?
What about humidity control? Does it just depend on the size of the water bowl?
I need more info as i am looking to purchase/build a multiple enclosure.

I think those type of enclosures are ok for ground dwelling elapids etc but I would not keep pythons in them.

Yeah keep em in the dark, if ya feed em a little bs aswell, they'll grow like mushrooms !
Personally, I've tried to imagine being a snake, I reckon, Id miss A regular period of daylight . Looks too "Intensive farming" to me, have a heart, give em some room!

And UV is not usually a major consideration for pythons except Diamonds.
Brad Walker gave a talk recently where he said that the Childreni group could spend their lives in one of those, just move them into larger ones as they get older (larger as in floor area, not height). But I would want to give any python climbing opportunities.

Yeah I was thinking that I would silastic a pair of dowels in each for climbing, and add a little comfortable hide and a water bowl.
I am going to use it to raise hatchling diamonds but still keep my adults in lit, heated, branched and natural leafage for substrate cages for me to enjoy watching them.
These type of enclosures do remind me of battery hens so i am with instar i think on the solitary confinement issue.
