Lazy snakes

Who here has lazy snakes ?
My childrens pythons have to be the most lazy pythons iv'e ever kept.
They sit in the same spot under the basking area 24/7 even when heat is off.
So they are the most inactive most boring snakes i have.

Do other people have this same experience with childreni or other species ?.

Yup my childreni just sits under the papertowl, in pretty much the same spot. He does shift from cool end to warm end but usually only if I've disturbed him beforehand.

Brettix - My Stimmies are out and about most nights but curl up under their paper all day - although they do shift from warm to cool end...

...could it be that you warm end isn't getting warm enough and as such your snake is trying to get as warm as possible in the conditions provided...?

That suggests to me that they are not being kept warm enough.

Adult Diamond, very placid. Hardly ever moves from his basking spot in the middle of his enclosure. When eating, (also a lazy feeder), will go to top, right under ceramic heater for a week, then returns to middle. If disturbed and moved, will lay down the bottom for the night and then sneak back onto middle shelf.

Sub Adult MD, very snappy. Very sneaky, will move around when no-ones in the room. Will move into striking mode if in exposed position when you walk into room. Spends most of the day hiding on top shelf opposite ceramic heater. Once lights go out (around ten pm), will have a slither around the enclosure.

Yearling Diamond, Once fed will stay in hide for one-two days. Spends rest of time on top of hide. Same as the MD, once light go out, will come out and slither around.

Speak of the devil hehe, he just started to have an explore then!

He usually curls up on his vine and stays there most of the time, except after a feed which then he'll go down into his warm cave.

Had to prove me wrong lol

Well if 30-35 deg is too cold let me know !
The cool end is 18-25
They sit under the heat at that tem 24/7 and only move to eat.
My diamonds were so much more active they cruised around constantly.

I have a "night wanderer" for a son. Often when returning Jackson to his bed after he wanders into our room, I see Boof in all sorts of different places. He's particualrly active a day or two before a feed - hunting I guess. Even during the day we find him in lots of different places thoughout the cage (but he hardly ever basks) he's usually in his hide, behind his favourite rock or curled in the leaves. All snakes are different I guess.
