I noticed my snake had a leftover or damaged scale the other week. I tried wiping it with a wet cloth, but it was still there. I was told to use baby oil, so I rubbed a little bit on and it looked a bit better, but again, it was still there. Today I took her out and she has these weird patches right in the middle of her back just near the end of her body. They're kind of like damaged scales, or imagine if snakes had fur then they'd be bald patches. The area is only small but I'm worried. Will it correct itself when she sheds next? Has she hurt herself? Is she sick? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

A picture would help tremendously.

Is it like a white/grey patch where the scale was? Our spotteds had this and each shed the scale comes back, they were like this when we bought them but is something we figured is minor and will go back to normal
But yes a pic definately does help

How do you provide heat to your snake? Is it possible the snake could have burnt itself on the heat source?

Well it's kinda hard to capture, or maybe my camera sucks. Imagine normal scales that are all plump and shiny, well these are dull and wrinkly, they're not glossy like the rest of her. It's kinda hard to see in person, so it's nigh impossible to see it in a photograph. They're still the same colour, just old and sickly looking.

I'll see if it goes away when she sheds, she sheds pretty often and she's due for one soon. Thanks for the help anyways. APS forums are nice and friendly.

She's acting normal too, it doesn't seem to faze her.
