Lost Coastal

I did a thread the other day asking what would be the reason for my girl to not go into either hide and stay on the exo vine attached to the ceiling in a curve. I even had to feed her whilst she hung there. Anyway I got up the nerve tonight to get her off the vine. I got a hold of her in the middle and then tried to uncurl her back half starting at her tail whilst she tried to get away from me. Shaking and heart pumping I finally got her off and she came out and enjoyed over an hour climbing over me and then I put her back.

Within 3omins she had gotten out of the enclosure, didn't realise one sliding glass ane was a bit open. I came in to get back on the computer and had a look to see where she had gone and couldn't find her!! My husband turned on the light and I was about to check the rock hide when he saw her tail along the stand supporting her 4ft enclosure!! I picked her up and she was climbing all over me. Onces she was secure again I watched her "stroll" up to the same spot to check out the glass again. I've read of others losing their snakes and shook my head and now it was my turn!!! HA HA At least I know she isn't afraid of her substrate probably jsut getting used to her new enclosure of 9days.

LOL its ok I found one of our beardies on a bush today. The outdoor cage had been moved off the grass and onto the garden bit and it was too heavy for me to lift back. I thought it would be ok but one of the girls dug out. Lucky she was too lazy to go anywhere!

Don't worry about your coastal they are arboreal and love to be up high. My avatar is actually my girl trying to get on the camera - she is a hoot will even try to sit on your head although she s a bit big now.

Both my male coastal and female spotted have escaped (different times) and when i've got home found them curled up in my bed under the covers. Both times it's taken me weeks of pillow checking to get to sleep. Just shows no matter how much they love to climb the small dark corner will always have the lost reptile.

LOL. My little one loves climbing on top of my head, and curling his tail around my ear for balance. So cute

Yes Tara climbs on top of my head and also uses my glasses to wrap around.Being 1year old now she is quite heavy and could wrap round my neck twice, she has grown in the last 9 days, love to weigh her again but my little kitchen scales would be too small for her now.
